You're not a video editor.

LET'S FORKIN GO

I've been selling myself short calling myself a "video editor."

Yes, I edit videos — but I also know what's good, what converts, and can work collaboratively with clients on their content.

"Video editor" has become low-status, race-to-the-bottom work and those terms do not apply to the projects I've taken on recently.

Right now I'm working on (what will become) the biggest podcast for newsletter creators hosted by a top name in the space, working on an incredible business show by my company's founder, and I just found out I'll be editing short-form videos featuring Shaq.

If flexing is what actually gets you in the door, calling yourself a "video editor" slams it shut.

Watch the video above to see what editors should call themselves instead.

As always, thank you for being here. Resistance stopped by the house for a few weeks, telling me I didn't have time to make YouTube videos. I seem to have kicked him out... for now.
